Lily Gladstone's incredible breakthrough performance in Killers of the Flower Moon has indelibly put her on the map as a brilliant acting talent in Hollywood, as well as an important voice in the conversation about Indigenous representation. And now that award-show season is in full swing, her red-carpet appearances are revealing she's also a burgeoning beauty icon. The latest proof: her stunning makeup look at the Critics' Choice Awards.

Gladstone, who was nominated for Best Actress, wore a beautiful, off-the-shoulder, cobalt blue Christian Siriano dress to the award show, fresh off of winning the corresponding Golden Globes category last week. Although that win surely played a part in her radiant glow, so did her picture-perfect makeup look, created by makeup artist Nick Barose.

At first glance, the stand-out piece of Gladstone's makeup is her orange-red lip — a bold color that's overdue for a comeback — created with Chanel's 31 Le Rouge lipstick in Rouge Imaginaire and Le Crayon Lèvres lip liner in Blood Orange. But take a closer look and you'll see the most inspired aspect of the look: her eyeliner.

Barose found a perfect match for Gladstone's gorgeous gown with Cheekbone Beauty's Fearless Eyeshadow Pencil in Cobalt Blue. Instead of coloring her entire lid, Barose precisely swiped along her top lashline and ended with a little wing, creating an easy-to-miss but hard-not-to-love matchy moment. And what makes the vibrant look even more beautiful is the fact that Cheekbone is an Indigenous-founded beauty brand.

“Pairing strong colors together on eyes and lips instantly creates drama,” Barose tells Allure, adding that he loves the fun '80s vibes of the blue and orange combo. And just like we expect to see much more of Gladstone, we expect to see bold jolts of color all over the red carpets this year.
