I grew up in a Skippy household; therefore, I buy Skippy. That’s the way peanut butter selection goes—you reach for what’s familiar. But is what Mom and Dad used in your school lunches really best? Maybe! But also maybe not.
We set out on a quest to find the best-tasting peanut butters available. It’s a tough job (there’s so much protein!), but someone has to do it. By seeking out advice from nutritionists and going off our own tastes, here's what we discovered.
Smucker's Natural Chunky
This pick is the go-to of many Delish staffers. It has fresh-roasted peanuts, no added oils, and the perfect amount of salt. "Smucker's has a deeper, richer taste than other peanut butters," Marie Spano, MS, RD told TODAY, giving one of our fave spreads its due.
Crazy Richard’s 100% Peanuts All Natural Peanut Butter
This tops the list for a bunch of experts because, well, it only contains one ingredient: peanuts! It doesn't get much healthier than that. You can get it in smooth or chunky varieties, and while you might need to give it a HEALTHY swirl to incorporate the oil, once you do, reviewers and experts alike are sure you'll be impressed.
MaraNatha Organic Peanut Butter
Health-wise, you can't get much better than this velvety smooth peanut butter that only contains peanuts and salt, which makes it so recommended by nutritionists. We love this peanut butter because when you put it in the fridge (like you're supposed to!) it comes out tasting like peanut butter fudge.
Once Again Unsweetened Crunchy Peanut Butter
OK, this one gets points for its adorable label and a recycled glass jar, and nutritionists also love it for its low sodium content and limited ingredients. You can also go salt-free if you'd like. Oh and it's also vegan, non-GMO, and kosher. What's not to love?
Simply Jif
This peanut butter takes all the delicious flavors of Jif peanut butter, but cuts down on the sugar. No wonder it had five-star reviews, like, everywhere on the internet.

Teddie Natural Peanut Butter
This New England treasure is another that doesn't add anything but peanut butter and salt but that makes the most delicious peanut butter sandwich you'll ever have. OK, all peanut butter sandwiches are delicious but you get the point.
Skippy
We eat Skippy by the spoonful daily as a snack (or dessert), and it's used in most of our recipes that call for PB. We truly love Skippy. It might not be the healthiest, but it has the approval of our test kitchen. In moderation, there is no such thing as bad food, so this still makes our list.

Peanut Butter & Co.
When we did a taste test, this was the overwhelming favorite. It's not too sweet, not too salty, and insanely creamy. (Like, insanely.) Again, not the healthiest of the bunch, but there is something to be said for being satisfying.
