Heritage Store has been in the business of self-care long before it was a buzzword. For over 50 years, they've believed that beauty is more than skin deep - it emanates from the soul. That's what they call soul-to-skin beauty - and they've been its leaders since 1969. Heritage Store is on a mission to develop products that are good for people and the planet and enhance the physical and spiritual health of all we serve, with love.
Heritage Store was born in the summer of ’69, an era known for peace signs and good vibes. Virginia Beach is right where their Founder headed, giving up his corporate life to seek enlightenment, open a wellness store, and develop soul-to-skin beauty products that promote the mind-body connection.
The Store was a special space devoted to positive energy and community, and is where the classic Rosewater was created. A lot has changed in the past 50 years, but Heritage Store’s best-selling products are still known for being vegan and cruelty- free with minimal ingredients. Though they're now more than just one store, they'll always be a state of mind. A quest for finding your higher self – and in order to do that, you start with the soul.
Maura is the Chief Marketing Officer of Nutraceutical’s Skincare Brands. Top brands include Heritage Store, Life-flo, Aubrey Organics and Theraneem. Prior to working at Nutraceutical, Maura was a New York City based beauty advisor providing strategic guidance in marketing and consumer engagement to beauty companies ranging from early-stage to Fortune 500 and advised investment firms on the industry, new product development, acquisitions and strategy. For two years she served as the Chief Marketing Officer to a beauty technology start-up called, FitSkin and was also an Operating Advisor to North Castle Partners, a Private Equity Firm focused on health and wellness. Previously, she was with the Estee Lauder Companies for 13 years, holding positions across all categories within Global Marketing. Maura held positions as Executive Director, Global Marketing for the dermatologist developed Clinique brand and the Origins natural brand. She holds a Masters of Professional Studies from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) for Cosmetic and Fragrance Marketing and Management and a BS/BA in Marketing and International Business from Georgetown University’s undergraduate McDonough School of Business.
Black Castor Oil is made using the traditional African method of pressing and boiling roasted castor beans to create a naturally occurring ash that gives the oil a rich, dark color.
