Nunona is a whole food plant-based maternal and infant nutrition company for the first 1000 days of motherhood (from conception until 2 years of age). Founded in 2020 by Krista Maas de Villiers, a former infant nutrition industry executive and mom, she realized the products on the market for new moms were full of synthetic supplements -  not aligned with the demands of the modern mom. Focused on translating science into solutions, Nunona’s purpose is to help create healthier humans for a healthier planet. Nunona opened for orders in January 2021. Its debut product, Mama Balls, are energy balls specially formulated to help to create better quality breast milk. Allowing new moms to better feed their bodies so they can nourish their babies. Available in superfood inspired flavors, with new flavors dropping monthly. Nunona's Mama Balls are available as a weekly subscription from

Founding Story

Nunona was born to mother, Krista Maas de Villiers, who had spent her entire career travelling the world focused on infant nutrition and developing infant nutritional products. With the belief that the best gift you can give your child is a lifetime of health, Krista knows you can help secure this by optimizing your nutrition in the first 1000 days. However, when Krista embarked on her own motherhood journey, she realized she no longer wanted the traditional products she had previously developed. Instead, Krista wanted to nourish her body and her baby with whole food, plant-based nutrients; not synthetic supplements. Recognizing there were no evidence-based products available in the market that aligned with her whole food plant-based requirements, Krista made her own. Nunona's mission is to help create healthier humans, for a healthier planet. With their debut product Mama Balls, they help to support a new moms recovery and create quality breastmilk.
