Founding Story
Growing up on Catalina Island, drinking alcohol was among the most common ways to socialize with friends and family for Brianda Gonzalez, the Founder and CEO of The New Bar. That is until recently when a debilitating autoimmune disease nearly took her father’s life. Accustomed to having big, family-filled celebrations and indulging in food and drinks as a way of bonding together, Brianda desperately searched for a way to continue a similar social connection with her father—even though it couldn’t contain alcohol any longer. Brianda values the benefits of an alcohol-free drink and decided to build a platform that allows people to access, discover, and understand alcohol alternatives and how they can fit into their lifestyle—calling it The New Bar. Brianda opened The New Bar on Lincoln Blvd. in Venice Beach in the summer of 2022.
