Team Bios

Ayumi Chikamoto, the trailblazing CEO and founder of TokyoTreat, challenges conventional norms in patriarchal Japan. A graduate of Waseda University, Ayumi initially honed her skills at Recruit Co., Ltd, overseeing the planning of a domestic e-commerce business. Inspired by requests from friends abroad for popular Japanese snacks, she founded TokyoTreat in 2015, driven by the global allure of Japanese treats.

From humble beginnings on her living room floor, Ayumi's dedication turned TokyoTreat into a sought-after monthly subscription service for Japanese snacks. As a female CEO in a male-dominated industry, she shares her experiences and culture, leading the way for TokyoTreat subscribers worldwide.

Beyond her role as a business leader, Ayumi embraces the joys and challenges of motherhood, balancing her role as a working mother of two children. Her journey shows that, even in a society where men typically hold more power, Ayumi is proof that women can succeed as CEOs.
