Half Asleep is a female-founded, women’s sleepwear brand that creates comfortable and versatile sleepwear using sustainably sourced materials and plant-based natural dyes. From the packaging to the actual products, Half Asleep takes the planet into account in every single decision made. Their classic collection is made up of eight unique styles in three colors, with their signature ruffles present across all styles. The designs across all Half Asleep collections are versatile, modern, and timeless with a minimalist twist, inspired by the beauty of vintage sleepwear - the ruffles, the frills, the light, airy, feminine designs. They wanted to keep it approachable, versatile, and modern.
Half Asleep’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility goes beyond the products themselves, as the brand donates a percentage of sales to local homeless shelters and plants a tree for every item sold.
Founding Story
In 2014, after a trip to Ghana and seeing a video on overconsumption in the US, founder Patricia Siman had changed her diet and lifestyle completely. Consequently, she was looking for sleepwear that was comfortable, stylish, and, most importantly, sustainably made. After searching high and low, Patricia couldn’t find sleepwear that checked her boxes and a brand that resonated with her. Instead what she found were two extremes - bright colorful PJs that were made with materials and dyes that are harmful for the planet - or silky pajamas that all looked too similar and did not use plant-based materials. She wanted to find something that was classic but fun, made sustainably, designed to look and feel good. So she saw an opportunity to create something different - sleepwear she could wear around the house day and night - while lounging or working from home; feeling confident, not lazy. A couple of months later, Patricia moved back home to Miami to focus on her new venture full time, and in April 2019, Half Asleep launched to the public.

Patricia Siman
Founder

Patricia Siman was born and raised in Miami, FL to Salvadoran parents. Knowing she wanted to be an entrepreneur since she was young, Patricia decided to study business and entrepreneurship at Babson College, graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration and a concentration in Retail Supply Chain Management. Combining her love for business and fashion, she gained several years of experience in the fashion industry working in production and product development in New York for brands such as Rag & Bone, Diane von Furstenberg, and Loeffler Randall. Further pursuing her passion for design, Patricia also attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and obtained an AAS in Accessories Design.
Patricia wants to use Half Asleep to motivate and inspire women to make their dreams come true, just as she did for herself, and also to remind them that a good night’s sleep is essential to making anything happen.
